History of C.D Automatics

Overhauling in progress new 2008 layout to comeMark Milios founder of Callide Dawson Automatics, commenced his business as a part time operation in 1975. Then in 1987 Mark decide to retire from his full time employment and go out and increase his operating which already was successful, Marks name was passed around the community because he excelled in Automatic transmission, manual gearboxes and final drives (differentials)

During this time he had one of his sons employed, and carrying out an apprenticeship, then 1990 Marks youngest son also was destined to carry out an apprenticeship under his wing, the 3 of them established the business to a new level,

Then A&J 4wd was formed, not only specialising in automatic, manual and final drives but the workshop now was specialising in suspension repairs, then the need for 4wd drives repairs was required so the crew did  update education course as provided by 3rd party corporate and even manufactures extended there invitation to the crew, BTR , Gabriel suspensions.

Then a new era was upon us with electronic control units fitted to new cars, yet again more knowledge was required so more course were attended to keep up with the technology.

Then the eldest son also came from overseas to join into the family business, which he specialised in all aspect of the business already but his main field is diesel fitting.

As time matures people, so to did C.D. Autos mature we gain vast respect from the community and the mines, which brought us to a new level of expertise, from 1999 until present we had and are maintaining everything from ancillary equipment, light vehicles to medium trucks, even overhauling dragline brakes, grease and oil pumps, pneumatic tools, air filtering systems. Haul truck braking system, the list goes on

C.D. Automatics then setup a spare parts outlet under the name of A&J 4wd spares, in a short period of time the outlet also expand rather rapidly an at this time is when we consulted a newly form retail group, Auto One which when we joined this group we amongst a small handful of companies to do so. Auto one gave us the extra buying power we required, now we could compete against some other retail outlets and also pass on the cost savings to the customers.

C.D. Autos is not just a workshop or spare parts outlet we have matured into a small medium business with approx 25 employees, servicing the mines, public, rural communities, we take pride in our work and parts, we also supply a Parts to the mines, PowerStation, abattoir, councils, general public and of course to the rural industries.

So it is a credit to Mark Milios for establishing a business that not only is successful but it still is one of a few that still has the family values attached too.

Our employees are like an extended part of our family
